I would say the majority of surfers have a bias toward their short-term memory. It seems like every other wave is the best ride of the day, or a session with a couple of great sets is “the best day of surf for the year”.
But nobody likes surfing with someone who has a long-term memory. Those guys remind you how it was better three weeks ago or how the guy before you had a better ride. They hang onto those experiences, which inhibit them from enjoying the NOW to its fullest.
Try to love whatever you’re doing today as if it is the best it has ever happened. Just try.
There is a tradition, and a community, that is growing in westside Costa Mesa, CA. My good friends at Generic Youth open up their doors every hump day in order to host BURGER WEDNESDAY!
The crowd that assembles on this substantially slanted parking lot every week is an eclectic mix of people. However, the binding characteristics that you find amongst everyone are a love for burgers and conversation. And let me tell you… grill master Scott Andrews makes the best burger in Orange County.
If you’re in the neighborhood any Wednesday feel free to stop by…

Not looking cool enough while mowing your lawn? Problem solved… roll up the legs of your skinny jeans and jump on your custom fixie lawn mower. People will notice. You can even throw your u-lock in the pack of your pants for added style points trimming your front lawn.
Now you just need to figure out how to get it here from Switzerland. Hmmm…
