JR is a world-renowned street artist and recent winner of the TED Prize (awesome video/interview). His art can be found around the globe, yet not in museums or galleries. His medium is larger than life photographs pasted on walls, windows, buses, and rooftops. His message is always challenging, personal, and in your face.

The culmination of his most recent project (Women are Heroes) is to happen on January 12th, 2011 with the release of a film documenting his travels and installations of photos throughout Africa and around the world. I cannot wait.

What I am most excited about…
His message of restoration and dignity for the women in our world who are often the targets for so much.

I did a post on him nearly 1.5 years ago… you can read it here
