Starting Simply. Simply Starting.
A little over two years ago I made the commitment to wake up early on a Monday morning and go for a run. At the time it had nothing to do with getting in shape and everything to do with setting my priorities straight.
I wasn’t taking care of myself and I was trying to think my way through obstacles in my life. I had no perspective and no clarity because I continued to look harder and closer at problems like a Magic Eye puzzle in hopes that the answer would be reveal itself.
Starting my week with a run prioritized my health (mentally and physically) above the other things on my to-do list. It didn’t solve problems necessarily, but it created a shift.
It allowed me to take control of my schedule in a fundamental and simple way. It created one healthy pattern: a weekly reminder to get out of my own head.
And the views really aren’t too bad either.
