I saw these guys at a David Bazan show in Seattle in November, but it hasn’t been until recently that I’ve really got into The Head and the Heart. What do I love about them… creative harmonies and it’s music to stomp your foot to.

They are from Seattle, and for mainly inexplicable reasons I am very proud of them. Good job guys!

Almost everything about ‘The xx’ is unexpected… 2 person band (+ someone to press play on percussion tracks), girl lead guitarist, and guy bassist. Both of them sing equally and their sound is completely unique. Mellow.

I had the immense pleasure of going down to San Diego last night and attending the album release show for my friend Joel P West and his band The Tree Ring. There was a rad crowd, the show was sold out, and the band sounded amazing.
