I had the pleasure of checking out the Art In The Streets exhibition at the MOCA in Los Angeles this weekend. I don’t think I had ever been this excited to visit a museum, nor have I had so many artists I recognized on the program. The street art movement didn’t start with (now relatively famous) Shepard Fairey or Banksy, but has been an evolution of subversive cultures and their written/drawn/painted/sprayed messages to the masses.
It was fun to learn more about this history and be inspired by men and women who challenged status quo.
Some of the original graffiti artists.
Banksy also has a collection of pieces made for indoor viewing.
