The internet was once in love with a lady named Susan Boyle for her amazing voice and intriguing rise to fame. Her time in the spotlight has since passed and we (users of the world wide web) have had a need for a new champion of our hearts. Enter yosemitebear…
He made the infamous double rainbow video (below). In a recent interview on Jimmy Kimmel he confirmed that he was actually sober during the making of this video, contrary to popular belief. Which leads me to the question, do you love anything in your life as much as this guy loves rainbows? If not, you should try.
A song was made to further stamp yosemitebear’s love into our hearts. I bought this song on iTunes and all the proceeds go to the man himself.
The Gregory Brothers – Double Rainbow Song (ft. yosemitebear)
On a recent trip to Seattle I found myself at a bar singing karaoke. Flipping through the pages of an endless white binder causes 2 distinct emotions… 1) nostalgia for songs that once spoke into your soul, and 2) anxiety as you have to choose only one (or 2 or 3) to bring back to life.
I must say my friend Baird hit the nail on the head with his selection though. For better or worse, I have woke up to this song repeating in my head since that night. The root cause I’m still not sure of. Perhaps his stellar performance is to blame, but nonetheless, it reminded me of how blatantly awesome music in the 1990’s was.
Here is a taste for you, and a trip down memory lane (complete with words to follow along).
Soul Asylum – “Runaway Train”
I needed a little inspiration for this post today and I knew of one person I could turn to… my OLD FRIEND FOX.
The Tallest Man On Earth brings a fresh sound that you can’t help but want to listen on. This bonus track “Kids on the Run” from his album The WIld Hunt definitely leaves you wanting more. Hear more of his music by clicking his name above.
The Tallest Man On Earth – “Kids On the Run”
I’m a sucker for piano intros and really loud singing. If I could make music it would probably sound similar to this Cold War Kids song. You get so pumped on the first 30 seconds that the rest of the song and can truly do no wrong.
Do yourself a favor. Monday morning (or really any day this week), start your day by turning on your laptop, putting your earbuds in, and cranking to this song. It will help kick start whatever project you’re working on… promise.
