I have always loved public speaking. Equal to the thrill I get from speaking to a crowd has been the travel opportunities it has afforded me. I have seen parts of the U.S. that I may never have seen in my lifetime — I spoke to students in Missouri, traveled to the backwoods of Mississippi and gave a commencement speech in Louisiana to name a few.
Even more rare are the opportunities when my family gets to travel with me and partake in these adventures in unison. That was the magical thing that happened last month when I traveled to Alberta, Canada to speak at Socality Camp.
