sing-along sunday (#67) – prince

I have the distinct honor of DJing a friends wedding next weekend, so I am in the process of diving back into my music archives and also adding new music to playlists to be sure that I create the best dance environment possible.

It’s a rare occasion when DJ Koko (yes, that’s my self appointed DJ name) makes an appearance — actually this will make the 3rd wedding ever — but I’m excited to be a part of their big day. However, I need your help…

Please suggest some of your favorite songs to dance to so I can include them in the line-up!

the very best of prince

sing-along sunday (#26)

I had the honor and pleasure of acting as the DJ for some good friends as they tied the knot. I have no qualifications for doing so other than the fact that I like to dance to certain songs, so I at least had a list to begin with.

However, the challenging thing about weddings is the diverse crowd. You have to engage the more mature audience, and it’s imperative that you do so for the overall energy of the night. Two other reasons to do so: 1) older songs are fun, and 2) they are most likely paying for it.

This one did the trick just fine…

Neil Diamond – “Sweet Caroline”
