A beautiful short and honest documentary on a community of kids in South Africa who are finding refuge in skateboarding. Paraphrasing one of the interviews, a young boy says that while it’s possible that they will get injured skateboarding, it is still better than playing in the street and getting hit by a car (as they did previously).

If you have 11 minutes to spare, it’s worth a watch.

Favorite quote (and one I resonate with):

“We are skateboarders because we want to live a life which is good and awesome.”
